I Remember is a school of spiritual practices tied to the traditions of many different peoples, not one specific culture. The client wanted a visual system that reflected both the modern and the traditional across cultures. Wave built the brand platform — audience, market, messaging and positioning — then a visual system in very saturated colors, based on patterns borrowed from different cultures with historical motifs, rendered in almost acid colors that stood for the modern; the patterns scatter into elements and then reassemble from them. Special typography carried the philosophy of deep, layered memory of a cultural heritage encoded in our DNA. Wave delivered merch — yoga mats, mugs, sportswear for yoga and other practices — interior and exterior elements and signage, plus an Instagram, YouTube and site style. There was no motion (Wave wasn’t doing motion at the time), though the concept suits it well and remains free to reuse elsewhere. The project didn’t reach realization: the client’s business failed, having leaned too hard on the product selling itself by default and under-invested in advertising.
