About LightBeam

Light Beam is packaging for automotive lamps — a fairly technical part, which Wave gave an unusual form: the shape of two crossing beams from glowing headlights. On that metaphor Wave built several packs, in different colors and forms but united by the one idea — some with a die-cut in the shape of the beams, some conical, the very form of the box tied to the metaphor. Wave used only black and white to signal premium quality. The manufacturer liked it, because it set the product apart from competitors: the product was Chinese and effectively no-name, and Wave gave it a recognizable brand. It didn’t go into production — the seller went bankrupt and had other concerns — but the project stands as a strong example of lifting a generic technical product with structural form and a single clear idea.
